Madra Crainn Summer Camp 2026 Ages 11–14 | 20–24 July | Lees Road Park, Ennis 10am – 2pm daily | €150 for the week

Something new is starting in the woods this July.

Madra Crainn Forest School is The Feeding Tree's newest venture — and this summer camp is where it all begins. Designed specifically for young people aged 11–14, it's five days of being outside, trying real things, and discovering that the woods have a way of making everything feel a little more manageable.

What to expect

Over five mornings at Lees Road Park you'll forage for wild plants, learn to light and cook over a fire, try whittling and bushcraft, explore Irish folklore and mythology in the landscape where those stories were born. There'll be nature crafts, low ropes, hammock time, and games that tend to be better than anyone expects.

Some moments will push you gently. Others will simply ask you to slow down and notice. All of it happens outside, together, in good company.

Why Madra Crainn?

Real skills, real setting: Everything is hands-on and rooted in the natural world — the kind of learning that sparks something lasting.

A different kind of social: Small group, no pressure. Friendships in the woods tend to happen without anyone trying too hard.

Your pace, always: Participation is encouraged but never forced. Every young person is met where they are.

Small group, big experience: We're capping this first camp at 10 places so that everyone has room to find their feet.
